To the school that took my daughter smile.

My daughter story starts in the fall when a child decided that she was going to say to another kid that she wanted to Lure my child into a field and stab her with a screwdriver. Yes that child was suspended for 30 days but now that child is back my child now has to sit in the same seat in the cafeteria and the child that threatened gets to sit wherever she wants in the cafeteria all because I don’t want her around my child so instead of giving the bully the assigned seat they punished the victim. Then the Tuesday before spring break my daughter was assaulted in a classroom where a substitute teacher was sitting and could see everybody in the classroom and the child pulled my child’s hair and hit her in the back of the head and kicked her in the knee and the substitute teacher never got up one single time she just sat there and said that she was going to write a note to the teacher. My daughter was so scared that she didn’t go to her seventh period class and hid in the bathroom crying because my daughters bully was also in the seventh period Class. Emma‘s Collab teacher that’s in there to help Emma stay on task and everything else text me saying have you talk to Emma because I do email my daughter back-and-forth throughout the day I responded back no why. She then told me that Emma was skipping seventh period class I called her and I was like my daughter doesn’t skip so what you’re saying is you cannot find my daughter and where I hung up and went to the school. I went into the office and I was like where is my daughter and nobody could tell me where my daughter was they didn’t even realize my daughter was missing from the office standpoint there is a lady in there they just kind of smirked at me and said well she’s probably just in the counselors or the nurses office where they proceeded to call and she was at neither one of them nobody was in a real hurry to find her to even care if she was OK or if something happened to her they just all kind of stood around where I started yelling that they need to find my daughter. They finally found her and they didn’t want to bring her to me at first they told me that they will send her back to class I told him no I want to see her and when she came in she was crying her face was so incredibly red from crying so hard and when my daughter gets stressed like that she scratches herself and she had scratch marks all over her chest and then proceeded to tell me what happened and since then the child has since stayed in the classroom and they wanted remove my daughter and try to convince my daughter to change her schedule I have since emailed and told them that their bullying policy states that they need to remove the other child to keep my child safe not vice versa because my daughter is not the bully she is the victim I filed a police report and just waiting on the outcome of that but several parents have come forward and said that the problem is huge the schools don’t want to admit that there’s a problem with bullying in fact they punish my child and threaten to write my child up for skipping class but they still let the bully stay in her own class. My daughter is now scared to go to school and I’ve enrolled her in self-defense classes because the schools really don’t seem to care that there’s a problem even though people in Burleson know that there’s a problem but every time you come out and say it it gets shut down one of my admin‘s posted on the next-door app about the bullying problem and that app deleted her whole account so now she can’t post on next-door. I’m tired of the schools disciplining the wrong people and sweeping things under the rug like they never happened my daughter not only gets bullied by students there but she also gets bullied by teachers and nothing gets done Emma has celiac disease and with that she has unlimited access to the bathroom Emma raised her hand one day for five minutes the teacher just kept walking past her and ignoring her to the point where am telling her to just walk out of the classroom. My daughter has celiac disease heart disease and ADHD so I understand that times can be hard with Emma but as a teacher you have to treat every student with respect. My daughter does not get that my daughter has gotten dirty looks to the point where she realizes that people are looking at her like that and for her to realize that you’re giving a dirty look you have to be doing it quite a bit because she does not understand facial expressions. It breaks my heart that my daughter has to deal with this on my behalf because I am fighting out she has since lost friends because her bully is still in the school talking bad about my daughter the other children in my group have lost friends because their bullies have spread rumors that simply were not true and those kids are still in those classes Burleson is all about their football team and if their football team or part of it bullies they sweep it under the rug and even the coaches say that it’s not worth the fight. If it’s a football team or you’re popular you can get away with anything and since the other child’s bully was on the football team all they did that kid is had the coach talk to them the schools didn’t even notify the parents of these bullies they had no clue until the parent of the victim went to each house and talk to the parents the schools are dropping the ball and not keeping our kids safe that’s why things have to change I will fight tooth and nail for these children so they can go to school feeling safe and they don’t have to feel like they have to hide in the bathroom at a fear instead of going to an office that will stick up for them and treat them like human being my daughter didn’t go to the office because she knows that the office won’t do anything along with other children they know that the office won’t do anything so they don’t go there some of the people in my group have children that I’ve been bullied for so long that they have become a bully in order to protect themselves . These children shouldn’t have to go through this and it is time that we step up and take a stand for what is right I will do whatever I have to do to fight the school systems in Johnson and surrounding counties and my goal is to go further than that I get this in laws have to change and that is one of my steps to my goal is to help change laws and fit them for the times now because the laws are outdated and need to be changed. Also school resource officers need further training on how to handle kids with disabilities because they talk to my child as if she was the problem and that it was because she is who her friends are well the girls that did this or not my child’s friend. And his response was well it’s just a generic speech I gave all the kids and then looked at him and said there is no generic kid in the school you cannot give a generic speech to any kid in the school they are all different and they are all unique and they are all special I need help getting these kids stories out there I am willing to meet with you and talk things over. We have been on a radio show and we have another radio show coming up in April and I will continue to fight to get the stories out there and get a change started because without people backing us in our voices being heard these kids have to suffer in a school that doesn’t care to protect them. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to send over some of the stories that I have these are not all the stories these are just a handful that I could grab in a short amount of time. There are so many more stories but parents in fear of retaliation are scared to speak out I am not scared and I will not back down I have a mom willing to fight for what needs to be done.

Facebook challenge

Before my life revolved around Facebook and people I hardly knew or really didn’t know at all. I also wondered why those people’s food post were more important than spending my time with my kids and you know what they aren’t important at all. I don’t really care what you ate last night. My kids will only be young for a short time and I don’t want to miss a second of it. I have taken my own challenge, that Facebook will no longer rule my life. I will now spend time bonding and loving my kids. I will put them before Facebook. during the day I will have nothing to do with it till my kids go to sleep. therefore I have the chance to watch my children learn and grow. I am also learning so much about my kids and the world around us. I’ve seen the sun rise and it was the prettiest I’ve seen in a long time. I get to get home and help my kids with homework. I am showing them that life behind a phone or a screen is not a life at all. It’s not a way to communicate with friends.

Life is to short get out and live it.

So I challenge all you to say no to Facebook while your kids are around and or awake. Put them first and you will see a change in yourself and then in them. #takeastand #familyfirst #momvibe

Getting back to life. The good, wild and fun ride.

Back to school has always been hard, between working full-time and being a mom and then having to give up more time with my babies to the school has been heart wrenching, But this year I was able to change my hours to where I could put my kids first. I get to be the Mom God wanted me to be. I’m getting to have bonding time with my kids in the afternoons where I get to help my kids with homework or any life problems they might face. I get to just sit and relax with them watch dumb shows which they love, play game or just go for a walk with them. I don’t have to feel rushed to get food cooked, kids fed, homework done, showered and put to bed. Not really being able to just talk to them ask all about their days. That really made being a good parent hard and stressful. My kids were stressed everyday and some days broken-hearted, Which in return left me drained and frustrated. I vow to them that I will make this year and every year after to be the best times of their lives. Yes we will fight and drive each other crazy but the love will always be there and they will know that family is meant to come first. So when they grow up and have kids of their own they will be the best parent because that’s what was shown to them as kids.

Back to school

Last year at this time I was so ready for school to start, but this year my anxiety is through the roof. The fears for my daughter couldn’t be more than they are now. I worry so much. Will she make friends? Will the teacher like and/or understand her? Will she feel like she’s a good kid or will she feel like last year and label herself the bad kid? Will she feel wanted or needed by her peers? I truly hope she can gain the love for school back this year. A little back story on Emma, She has a mood disorder and adhd but because of her heart disease she can’t take any medication to help her in school. So she  has to learn things different. Emma can be so sweet and loving but also be easily frustrated, angered and just shut down. I just want her to have a teacher that can bring her frustration back down and be a calming voice to her. A teacher that will love her through the anger that Emma may be feeling at the time. A teacher that isn’t easily frustrated or yell at emma because at that point you will have lost her and she will tune you out. My prayer for emma is that she knows that no matter how school went from day-to-day that she comes home knowing that she is loved and that tomorrows another day. That I will always be proud of her as long as she always does her best and lastly that giving up and quitting is never an option.

Now my son, he is smart and not much frustrates him he loves school and everything about it. He is a bit worried this year cause this is the first year in middle school. He is kind of bummed because most of his friends wont be going to his school, but he is still so excited about this new chapter in his life. My hope for Skyler is that he has great teachers and that he can learn a lot from them. I hope that making new friends doesn’t come hard for him. that he is kind to everybody around him. That everyday he comes home proud and knows that he did his best and that he also knows that I love him and am proud of him to.

Tetanus

Tetanus is a bacterium that lives in the gut of rudimentary animals like horses, pigs, and cows. It is also in their manure. When exposed to air, it dies. So, he would have to be in, say, a pig pen,….or cow pasture, step on a needle that was not exposed to air….like if it was in the middle of the manure, or buried under the dirt,….and if it bled at all, the tetanus would most likely flood out of the wound and be gone. Your sofa, unless you have a pig or cow, probably has as much chance of having tetanus bacterium on it as you have of having a horse in your living room. So, I would wash it well, and not worry about it. That said,…..research it a bit yourself,…..and I am sure others will chime in with even more and better information.

I did see this in another post and will also share:

Fun questions about Tetanus and the Tetanus Vaccine to stump ER Docs with:

❔ Are you aware that the bacteria that cause tetanus, Clostridium tetani, are found in soil, dust and animal feces? http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/tetanus/basics/causes/con-20021956

❔ Are you aware that tetanus is an anaerobic bacteria and requires an oxygen-less environment to go through it’s life cycle to even become the tetanus toxin which is dangerous? If a wound has bled and can be cleaned and aired, there is zero risk of this life cycle ever happening.

❔ Are you aware that the Tdap takes the typical body about 3 weeks to produce antibodies to the vaccine?

❔ Are you aware that if a wound contains tetanus spores in the correct environment, it will only take about 1 week to begin off-gassing toxins? So the vaccine won’t help right now?

❔ Are you aware that the Mayo Clinic states even natural infection with Tetanus cannot make you immune to future infection….. So why would an inactivated injection of it be any better? http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/tetanus/basics/treatment/con-20021956

❔ Are you aware that there have been 155,830 adverse events in children and adults reported to the Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS) following tetanus containing vaccines — and 2,676 deaths?

❔ Are you aware that in 8 years 26 died from tetanus and 791 died from a tetanus vaccine?

The most recent statistics available from the CDC are:

During 2001–2008, a total of 233 cases of Tetanus were reported from 45 states; 26 were fatal. 196 out of 233 were vaccinated, whether the unvaccinated were among the fatal cases is not recorded.

An average of 29 cases was reported each year. The average annual incidence was 0.10 per 1 million population. http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/mm6012a1.htm

However, during 2001-2008, a total of 53470 injuries from a tetanus containing vaccine is on registry with the United States government database. 791 were fatal. https://vaers.hhs.gov/data/data

So….. in 8 years 26 died from tetanus and 791 died from a tetanus containing vaccine……..

❔❔❔So Doc, WHY should I get a tetanus shot❔❔❔
